In Monopoly Go, besides the two or three day single player or co-op events, there are also some very short Flash Events that appear in the game. They usually last only a few hours, and it is easy to miss the opportunity to participate in them.
However, since some of these Flash Events can offer you a lot of rewards, this guide will introduce you to the details of them and some strategies you can use during the active period to maximize their effectiveness.
If you are a player who likes to build landmarks on your board to collect a lot of cash as rent, then this Flash Event is definitely not to be missed. During this active period, you will receive additional rewards every time you build the last upgrade of a landmark, sometimes extra free Monopoly Go Dice, sometimes cash.
Currently, if activated within the 6 hour timeline, Landmark Rush can last for 45 minutes or 1 hour, depending on the duration of other Flash Events. It is worth noting that Landmark Rush can only be started if you are logged in during the Flash Events timeline, as it is not activated until you open the game.
Tip: Make sure you have a large amount of cash in your bank before participating as building and upgrading landmarks requires a lot of cash. If you cannot fully complete the landmark with the remaining funds, avoid over-upgrading. Also, if your main purpose is not to get extra dice from this event, you can completely ignore this event as it will only reward you up to 10 dice.
When you use your dice to land your tokens on GO, Just Visiting and Go to Jail tiles during Free Parking (Dice) & (Cash) event, you will receive a number of cumulative points.
These points are available to you after you reach Free Parking - they reward you with the same number of MG Dice or cash, and then reset to zero. This cycle repeats until Flash Events for the day are over. Like Landmark Rush, Free Parking (Dice) & (Cash) lasts for 45 minutes or 1 hour if activated within a 6-hour time frame.
Tip: Once you understand how it works, you may immediately realize that this event requires a lot of dice. And these tiles require your tokens to land on them accurately rather than passing through them, which requires more dice. In addition, using the appropriate dice multiplier will also help you collect more points and rewards.
You often get this Flash Event as a milestone reward in some limited-time events. It should be noted that its countdown has already started when you get it, and you need to use it before the countdown ends.
During the period when Rent Frenzy is active, more friends will join your board. At this time, you can set additional rental goals on the board so that you can charge more rent from your friends. And when your tokens land on the tiles they are standing on, you will also receive the cash they pay you. Currently, Rent Frenzy lasts for 30 minutes, whether it appears as a regular Flash Event or a milestone reward. But if you don’t activate it, it will expire after 6 hours.
Tip: In fact, this Rent Frenzy will not have a big impact on your cash, dice or even Monopoly Go Stickers inventory, but it will make you gain more friends in the game. So you can treat it as a regular event and don’t worry too much.
During this Builder’s Bash event, the construction cost of your landmarks or hotels will be greatly discounted: 50% discount for the first landmark, 40% discount for the second landmark, 30% discount for the third landmark, 20% discount for the fourth landmark, and 10% discount for the fifth landmark. Normally, Builder’s Bash will last for 1 hour. Again, if you fail to activate it successfully within 6 hours, it will expire.
Tip: Like Landmark Rush, prepare a lot of cash to build and upgrade your landmarks. But remember, don’t over-upgrade and don’t put yourself at risk of running out of cash, or your Monopoly Go progress will be very slow.
When your token lands on the railroad tile, you’ll trigger two mini-games - Shutdown and Bank Heists - that can earn your points for tournament milestones. While Mega Heist is active, each of your Bank Heists has a chance to become a Mega Heist Gold Bar, which awards the highest points and gives you some cash.
Likewise, Mega Heist often appears at some milestone rewards, so use it immediately after you get it, otherwise it will no longer be valid after the countdown ends. Like regular flash events, Mega Heists typically last 45 minutes, though for milestone rewards, the exact time depends on the details of the event.
Tip: When your token is close to the railroad tile (about 6-8 spaces away), you can use some high dice multipliers as much as possible to get more tournament points and cash from it.
During Cash Grab event, when you land on a Chance tile on the board, a new Chance Card will be added to your deck - Cash Grab card. When you draw this card, you will have a limited time to grab falling cash in a mini-game with flying cash. Generally speaking, Cash Grab only lasts for 20-30 minutes, so it will not have a substantial impact on the specific game content.
Tip: Don’t pay too much attention to it, just explore normally.
In Monopoly Go, you can spin Color Wheel once after each hotel of a different color, and in Wheel Boost, you can spin it an extra time. But it should be noted that this extra chance does not affect the ultimate reward you get, whether it is dice, stickers or cash. Again, Wheel Boost usually lasts for 20 minutes and will expire after 6 hours of inactivity.
Tip: While this event is active, you need to build as many hotels of different colors as possible to ensure that Color Wheel is triggered. In addition, your cash reserves must be sufficient, because construction requires a lot of cash as a guarantee. Generally speaking, Roll Match only lasts for 10 minutes, which is one of the shortest durations among many Flash Events.
