To find this boss, you need to go to the multiple Basin of Unnumbered Flames in the western part of Sumeru Desert. There, you can find a surface Teleport Waypoint just above Stadium of the Sacred Flame, with a path next to it that leads directly into a cave, which you can enter to find the boss.
Alternatively, you can use a teleport point at the top of the cliff where Goldflame Qucusaur boss is located, and then jump down through an enormous gap.
When you approach the battlefield with Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant, it will descend from the air and begin to attack. This boss’s attacks are slow and usually concentrated in a small area, making them relatively easy to dodge.
If you have a shield character like Zhongli in your team, the fight will be easier. You can usually attack the boss at the beginning of the fight, which means it is possible to end the fight before the main mechanic is triggered.
When the boss gains a Pyro shield and flies high into the air, it means that the main mechanic has been triggered. The boss will first fire some auto-homing ammunition at you and form a Pyro structure on the battlefield. Then, it will rush towards the structure after a few seconds. If you can use Pyro-related reactions to get rid of it before it touches the structure, you will be able to successfully counter this attack.
If the boss rushes at a structure while it is already damaged, it will stay near the ground, in which case you can use Hydro to help you quickly eliminate the structure and the boss’s shield. Once the shield is destroyed, you can continue to deal damage to the boss and defeat it quickly.
