Almost every Diablo 4 season has one or two exclusive season highlights, and for the latest Season of Witchcraft, this highlight is undoubtedly the powerful witchcraft powers with different effects. Their design ideas are very similar to the vampire powers in Season 2, but they are more diverse and more powerful.
It is worth noting that different witchcraft powers will be suitable for different Diablo 4 classes because of their combat effects, but there are also some witchcraft powers that are suitable for almost every class, so every player needs to understand how to obtain and upgrade it, such as Piranhado, which belongs to the lost power.
Before understanding Piranhado, first you need to know that the witchcraft powers in Diablo 4 Season 7 can be divided into four major categories. The first three of them can be learned at the altars corresponding to the three witch NPCs by completing the pre-tasks, and the last lost witchcraft power requires you to farm Forgotten Altars additionally in the dungeon to obtain it, such as Piranhado.
Interestingly, Piranhado of lost witchcraft powers is actually a return of Witch Doctor Piranhas rune from the previous Diablo 4 season, and it works well with every class in Season 7 as a witchcraft power.
First you need to unlock the entire witchcraft powers mechanic, and to do that you need to complete some of the pre-quests for the Season 7 campaign. The first step is to go to Gea Kul and talk to Gelena, which kicks off the campaign, then you need to find the source of decay and one of the stolen heads, and then go to the Tree of Whispers with Gelena to complete the remaining quests.
These quests will teach you what Coven’s Favor is, and will begin allowing you to interact with the three witch-related altars next to Tree of Whispers and gain the witchcraft powers associated with their names, namely Altar of the Eldritch, Altar of the Psyche, and Altar of Growth Altar.
The fourth altar, Forgotten Altar, which can bring lost witchcraft power, can only be found in dungeons, and the specific time and place of its appearance are randomly refreshed, so it will take more time and effort to obtain this witchcraft power.
After encountering Forgotten Altar, you need to exchange it with Restless Rot to exchange it for the desired witchcraft power from the altar, such as Piranhado. As for Restless Rot, you can actually think of it as a special currency limited to Season 7, which can be obtained by killing Headrotten enemies in Headhunts area.
In addition, don’t forget that you can’t use Piranhado immediately after obtaining it, but you need to continue to unlock it by improving your reputation in Coven and claiming rewards from Coven’s Favor board next to Tree of Whispers, otherwise it will just be a decoration.
It is worth mentioning that farming in Headhunts area not only allows you to obtain witchcraft power through Restless Rot but also obtains Diablo 4 Gold, gear, crafting materials and other loot at the same time, which is very worth investing.
Headhunts are activated by Tree of Whispers in random areas of Sanctuary, a bit like Helltides. Once activated, there will be multiple Headhunts active on the map at any given time, each with a different timer, and you can go to these areas to farm them according to your schedule.
Headrotten, an enemy in Headhunts that drops various loot for you, is a new gameplay element in Season 7. It has several different variants, and Restless Rot dropped upon death can not only be exchanged for lost witchcraft powers, but can also be used to craft Occult gems, a new item that appeared in the current season.
Piranhado is actually upgraded in the same way as any lost witchcraft power, and is much easier than unlocking and obtaining them because it does not require the hard-to-spawn Forgotten Altar.
First, go to your character’s inventory, find the Witchcraft tab, select the witchcraft power you want to upgrade, and consume the required amount of Restless Rot listed in the corner of the screen to complete the upgrade. In addition, you can equip and replace the witchcraft powers you have fully unlocked according to specific needs in this interface position, and you can use up to six powers at the same time.

After completing the campaign missions of Season 7, you can actually unlock more witchcraft powers you want by continuing to complete seasonal world missions. Although it is troublesome to find forgotten altars through dungeons to unlock more lost powers, if you equip more witchcraft powers from the other three altars in advance, it should be easier to obtain lost powers.
The above is the knowledge about obtaining and upgrading Piranhado and more lost witchcraft powers. Maybe you didn’t know how to get them before, but now I believe you should be able to do it quickly. Thank you for reading.
