With the release of Vessel of Hatred DLC and Season 6 content, Diablo 4 has received one of its biggest updates since its release in 2023, adding a ton of new content to the popular action-RPG. This update not only brings a brand new class, Spiritborn, but also introduces powerful enemies called Realmwalkers.
Over the past few weeks, players have been enjoying all the new features that Vessel of Hatred has brought, including new boss fights and dungeon encounters. However, some previous updates have caused trouble for players, resulting in players being unable to complete the game smoothly.
Last month, some players reportedly discovered that Dark Citadel raid-like in DLC did not support couch co-op in the game, which undoubtedly brought disappointment to players who were looking forward to experiencing the game cooperatively. Now, players who are trying to experience Infernal Hordes through couch co-op mode are in trouble again.
This wave-based survival mode is one of Diablo 4’s endgame activities, and is designed to provide players with valuable resources, more loot, and plenty of Diablo 4 Gold.
A player has shared his dissatisfaction with the glitch currently affecting Diablo 4’s infernal hordes feature on the game’s official community page. According to the player, the persistent bug is preventing players in Infernal Hordes from completing the final objective.
A similar bug that previously affected the mode was related to the game’s final objective, in which players need to defeat Fell Council. However, according to some players, the game did not respond at all after defeating Fell Council, preventing them from continuing. There seems to be no simple solution to this problem, which has left players confused and frustrated.
While this is not an issue specific to couch co-op, it is still a frustrating softlock glitch that may prevent some players from fully experiencing Infernal Hordes. This is also not the first problem encountered with Infernal Hordes. “This happens frequently in local co-op, rendering the game mode completely useless,” the player said.
Other players have also chimed in, saying that they have now stopped playing in co-op. It’s a frustrating experience. It’s unclear what caused this issue to occur, but it seems to be a fairly common problem for those who try to play Diablo 4 cooperatively with friends.
The report of this error follows Diablo 4’s recent hotfix, released on November 4, which addressed two key issues, one of which involved Obducite drops. Another bug affected health, where players could get stuck at 1 HP after using a certain item. Fortunately, these issues have been resolved, but it seems that the development team will have at least one more issue to pay attention to in future updates.
Currently, Diablo 4 has entered the mid-stage of Season 6, and updates and expansions to the game are still ongoing. The development team has promised that Season 6 will continue to bring a ton of new content and improvements, including a series of updates with Vessel of Hatred.
At the time of writing, the development team has announced no known plans to fix the local co-op issues in Infernal Hordes mode. Although the developers have responded to the Spiritborn’s overpowered gameplay, players who want to experience Infernal Hordes with other players may have to wait a while to see the problem resolved.
Players are frustrated that this problem has persisted for so long. According to one loyal player of the game, “This has been happening since Season 5.” This means that this problem has plagued players for multiple seasons.
For players who like couch co-op mode, it is currently unknown how long this problem will continue. Unfortunately, with recent data showing that the majority of Diablo 4 players prefer to play solo, this issue may not be a priority at the moment.
Although Diablo 4 supports a fully single-player game mode, it also provides a wealth of multiplayer cooperative content for players to experience in a team. One of the most representative activities is the Dark Citadel event, an important endgame activity in Vessel of Hatred. Players can join hands to challenge powerful enemies and complex puzzles together, and enjoy the fun of team raid-like games.
It is currently uncertain when this bug will be fixed, and only time will tell. For players who have been hoping to try Infernal Hordes in local co-op mode, it is best to be cautious.
In order to solve this problem, the game developers need to investigate and fix this bug as soon as possible. They should also consider providing more support and optimization for the couch co-op mode to ensure that players can enjoy the game smoothly.
Although the couch co-op mode in Diablo 4 is currently facing some difficulties, it does not mean that it has no future. With the continuous update and improvement of the game, I believe there will be more improvements and optimizations in the future, so that players can better enjoy the fun of cooperation.
