Treyarch has made a major change to the rewards system for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Archie’s Festival Frenzy holiday event. Players will now be able to claim all rewards at the end of the event.
In addition, while there was initial speculation that the double XP event would take place on December 24, we can now see that it has been pushed back to Wednesday, December 25 at 10am Pacific Time.
Since its release, double XP events have become a regular event in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, helping players level up their characters faster. While there have been issues with some double XP events where players did not receive the expected XP, these issues have now been fixed. This gives players more time to prepare for the event and take advantage of this XP boost.
Treyarch has introduced Archie’s Festival Frenzy event for BO6, where players can collect Jolly Archies by defeating enemies. These Jolly Archies can be used to unlock a range of mystery rewards, including Double XP tokens and the new AMR MOD 4 Sniper Rifle. The event will last until January 3, 2025, so players have plenty of time to enjoy this festive event.
Previously, if players did not receive enough Jolly Archies to unlock Double XP tokens, you could only redeem them by using Black Ops 6 Redeem Codes. But now Treyarch has announced that after the event, all players will automatically receive the rewards you failed to unlock in time. This means that even if players do not complete all challenges during the event because of busyness or other reasons, you will not miss any rewards.
For players who like to participate in festive events, this also provides more freedom. Players can leisurely participate in the game in the next few weeks, experience the festive atmosphere, and gradually collect the required Jolly Archies.
A bug that appeared in CoD: Black Ops 6 may also affect Treyarch’s decision. This bug allowed many players to directly obtain all the rewards of Archie Festival Frenzy event without participating in any matches. This is obviously unfair to players who haven’t fully unlocked the rewards despite practicing and playing in BO6 Bot Lobbies for a long time, especially if they have played hard and won a lot of Jolly Archies.
Black Ops 6 will continue to usher in a lot of new content, and players are particularly looking forward to the launch of Season 2. Among them, the improvement of Ricochet Anti-Cheat system is one of the major changes that players are most looking forward to. Recently, Treyarch disclosed the upgrade plan of this system, hoping to effectively solve the cheating problem in the game, especially in Multiplayer.
Although the in-game Ricochet Anti-Cheat system is regularly updated to deal with the latest hacking and cheating methods, some players can still use cheating tools such as aimbot, affecting the experience of other players. However, recently, some players always report other players through spam. Players’ reports may result in their accounts being banned if they are judged to be malicious or inappropriate.
To avoid this, the development team has made it clear that players are not encouraged to submit multiple reports against the same player, as this may cause the system to be overloaded and even affect the effectiveness of the entire anti-cheat system.
To solve this problem, Treyarch and Activision are currently working on improving the reporting system to prevent players from maliciously submitting spam reports. Some players are dissatisfied with this practice, believing that the measures to restrict spam reports may be too harsh, but from the official response, this practice is mainly to avoid abuse of the reporting system and protect the fairness of the game.
As BO6 continues to update, players can also expect that as the system improves, the game environment will become cleaner and the impact of cheating will be further reduced.
Black Ops 6 Double XP Event will start on time at 10 am Pacific Time on Wednesday, December 25. Besides the double XP event, there are many Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 events worth participating in. For example, Archie’s Festival Frenzy event mentioned above will continue, and players can collect rewards by completing festival tasks. In addition, the extremely popular Stakeout 24/7 playlist has also returned, providing players with more game fun.
To welcome the festive atmosphere, Black Ops 6 also launched a holiday-themed Nuketown map variant, bringing a brand new combat experience. Not only that, a new Zombies map was added earlier this month, allowing players to find more challenges and fun between multiplayer and Zombies.
If fans of BO6 feel that the current content is already playing, you can look forward to 2025. Treyarch has confirmed that it plans to continue to release new content for COD BO6 throughout 2025 as part of seasonal updates. These updates will include new fresh cosmetics, new maps, weapons, game modes, etc., to ensure that players can always experience fresh gameplay and content.
