Avowed is a first-person fantasy role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios, scheduled for release on Windows and Xbox Series X/S on February 18, 2025. The game's story is set in the world of Eora, where your choices will lead you through wars, intrigues, and ancient mysteries.
While Avowed is not a fully open world game, it contains several large explorable areas. As players explore the world, they will interact with a variety of NPCs. Decisions made throughout the game will affect the storyline and how companions assist in combat and quests. You will navigate a turbulent land, forge powerful alliances or engage in deadly confrontations, and wield magic and steel to determine the fate of the Living Lands and yourself.

The game Avowed will officially land on Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms on February 18, 2025. With the opening of the preload function, players can already download the game files in advance to prepare for the upcoming adventure.
According to official information, the full file size of Avowed is about 75 GB (SSD storage is required for PC version), and Xbox console version is expected to be similar. As the spiritual sequel to Pillars of Eternity series, Avowed sets the story in the unexplored Living Lands in the world of Eora. Players play as envoys of Aedyr Empire, investigating a world-threatening plague and uncovering their ancient connection with this land.
The game abandons the isometric squad perspective of the previous game and adopts a first-person immersive combat system, allowing players to combine magic freely, melee weapons and firearms. For example, you can freeze the enemy with ice spells first, then smash them with a sword, or use shield blocking and long-range bows to form tactical combos. In addition, the skill tree upgrade and weapon customization system further deepen the character growth.
